Inspection comes from the Latin inspectÄo and refers to the action and effect of inspect (examine, investigate, review). It is a physical examination that is performed primarily through sight.
The goal of an inspection is to find significant physical characteristics to determine which are normal and distinguish them from those abnormal. In this sense, it is possible to carry out inspections of companies or businesses to verify that they comply with the law.
It is interesting to note that, within the scope of law, there is what is known as visual inspection. Specifically, it is a procedure carried out by the judge and which consists of examining by himself, under the gaze of witnesses and various experts, the scene of an event that has taken place. In this way, you will learn more about the case and then prepare a document, a record, where you will collect each and every one of the issues that you have analyzed and found.
In the military sphere, the term inspection is also used. In his case, more exactly, it is common to talk about what is known as an inspection magazine, which consists of the action that an officer of a certain rank performs and which consists of checking the status of the different resources and materials that the military bodies have..
In the field of education, in the same way, there are also inspections. In it, what the professional in charge of them does is go to the educational centers to know first-hand their statistics, the existing problems as well as whether the teachers carry out their corresponding plans and didactic programming.
Of buildings, work measures and vehicles there are, in the same way, inspections that ensure compliance with the law and the best quality of life for all.
All this without forgetting that in the field of computing we would have to talk about what is known as a Fagan inspection, which is nothing more than an exhaustive study in search of possible errors that documents or software may have.
An inspector is the one who performs the inspections. In general, this person has the necessary powers in accordance with the law and current regulations to carry out his task and make the corresponding decisions. A restaurant, for example, cannot refuse to receive an inspector who has an obligation to control health and hygiene standards.
Once the inspector is inside the premises to be inspected, he will take note of what he has found and, in accordance with the rules, give a verdict. Continuing with the example of the restaurant, if the inspection detects dirt in the kitchen or food in poor condition, the inspector may order the closure or, in case he does not have such authority, he will have to inform his superiors so that they proceed and enforce the law.
The inspection can also be carried out to monitor the tax situation of a company. In this case, a state inspector will be in charge of examining if the company pays the taxes, for which she will review its invoices and control that it provides proof of each sale.
