In Latin is where you can find the etymological origin of the word ear that we are dealing with now. It derives from "auricula" which, in turn, emanates from the term "auris", which means "ear".

Continuing with humans, the ears are often used to wear various accessories for aesthetic or ritual reasons. The rings or earrings are a common element in the ears, especially women.
Ears are also the protagonists of various popular sayings. The expression "to stop the ears" is used with reference to paying attention, by analogy to the movement that animals can make: "When I noticed that they were talking about me, I stopped my ears to find out what their opinion was . "
Other popular phrases are linked to "wetting the ear" (when issuing a warning or getting a win over someone) or "pulling the ears" (a challenge): "The Argentine tennis player wet the Spanish ear and took the first set " , " That kid deserves a slap on the wrist . "
